Once you pick out the website that uses blog commenting/article commenting for links enter their website into YSE. Be sure to have SEO Quake ready. Chances are the majority of inlinks for their site is will not be from commenting, but you can filter out the ones with Pagerank (if any, and attempt to leave your own comment with a link back to your website). Another method of obtaining higher quality links is through link exchanges. Please note that this method relies on you having a website with Page rank itself (otherwise no one will link to you), and a site that is worth linking to (gambling, and adult sites are more difficult of course). You can find others willing to link exchange on popular webmaster forums such as warrior forum, namepros, digital point, and backlinksforum.

Buying Backlinks on High Pagerank Websites:

This method is one of the easier ones as it doesn’t require finding competitor backlinks and reverse engineering them, or contacting other webmasters to exchange links. However you will still need to practice due diligence and deal with webmasters you feel you can trust, and won’t sell you “permanent” links that will be removed within 3 months. Most of these links will come in the form of blogroll, or sitewide links, which appear on all pages of a website, while others will be contextual backlinks which appear only on that specific page. Webmaster forums such as bstbacklinks allow users to buy and sell backlinks with relative ease.

Renting High Pr Links on Private Network Websites:

Most advanced to setup yet simplest for the end user. The main advantage of this tactic is not having to deal with webmasters. Asking webmasters if they want to exchange links or checking to see if they removed your “permanent” backlink is tiresome and a waste of time. These links are usually rented, but if the ROI (Return on Investment) makes sense that’s all that matters. Typically these networks are made up of various degrees of Page Rank and volume. For example, one PR 6 may go for upwards of four thousand dollars. To setup your own network can get pricey, fast, along with the need for hosting; each site should be hosted on a unique c class ip address to mitigate the footprint and diversity in the eyes of search engines such as Google.

Every link pointing to your site from another website tells the search engines that the other site finds your resource valuable and thus, the engines read this as a vote for your site. Not All Votes Are Created Equal

Unlike your own vote in an election, some votes are worth more than others and some votes are worth SIGNIFICANTLY more than yours (unless of course you’re a content writer for the Google.com domain in which case you obviously have the top vote). The basic factors that affect a link’s value to your website are:

the site strength – the strength of the website that is pointing to yours is a significant (and historically abused) factor in the valuation of links. In the absence of other easily-visible criteria let’s look at PageRank as a key valuation of a site’s strength. If a site with a PageRank 8 links to your site, this vote is worth significantly more than a link from your PageRank 3 site. This is because a PageRank 8 site is, in Google’s eyes, a more important site than the PageRank 3 site.

Relevance – the relevance of a site linking to you is, if anything, more important than a site’s strength. If you run a bed a breakfast in Utah a link from a PageRank 3 bed and breakfast will be worth more than a link from a PageRank 5 web design site. This area is a bit grey in that it relies on the engine’s ability to determine what is relevant and what exactly is not however we’ve seen evidence that this area is strong at this stage in the game and is only becoming more important over time.

Anchor text – the actual text used to link for a site is extremely important. I’ve seen extremely strong sites get beaten out by weak ones simply due to the poor use of anchor test. If you’re building links to your site be sure to include your keywords in the text that links back and, if possible, the exact phrase you are trying to rank for. At the same time, you can’t make all your anchor text exactly the same – how can that possibly look natural?

Position – the position of a link on a page and the number of other links on that page impacts the value of a link. A link in the footer of a page is given less weight than a link near the top, a link in the content of a page is given more weight than a link in a list of links and a link on a page with 50 other links is given less weight than a link on a page with only a few other links. If we think about it – this makes sense. All of these things indicate whether the site with the outbound links actually intends for one of the visitors to click the link or not. From an engine’s perspective – the more apparently a site wants a link to be clicked on, the higher the weight that link (or vote) is given.

Admittedly there are a variety of other factors but this is a beginners guide. Following the considerations above will insure that as you make each link decision – you’re odds of making the right choices will be significantly higher than if you ignore them. Ignoring them may not get you penalized or banned but it will make your task far more time consuming as you secure less valuable links and thus need to create far more than following he right methods.

So far we’ve covered briefly the why of link building, now let’s get into the real-life, here’s-how-to-do-it side of things. Below I’m going to cover three of my favorite link building tactics. These are tactics that apply to virtually every scenario. The number of ways to create links is only limited by your imagination however and this should not be viewed as a comprehensive list. This is, after all, a beginners guide and I’m trying to list the tactics that apply to virtually every scenario.

Marketers can buy relationships and links, but Google will eventually identify that practice and ding the brand. The older, more established companies can lean on their brand recognition for support and links, whereas the Internet-age companies need to work harder and smarter.

The report breaks into segments starting from software to computers, HDTV to smartphones, printers to video game software and more. The bulk of Web pages assessed in the study had between tens of thousands to more than 1 million external inbound links. The volume of links did not necessarily translate into higher search rankings.

Scores were determined by content quality, technical optimization, and linking techniques.

Linking strategies between “old-guard” and “new-guard” technology companies proved the most interesting. The linking strength for the old-guard software companies, like IBM and Microsoft, resides in content and technical factors. Companies that came up through the “Internet age,” such as T-Mobile and Dell, are more social and do well with linking techniques.

• links from .gov, .mil, .edu, or .ac.uk domains. Links from these domains are likely rated better in authority type algorithms such as Hilltop or TrustRank.

Domain Pop – Backlink Check – The Domain Pop Backlink Checker will analyze your domain- and IP popularity (analyze your own homepage URLs), find new link partners (analyze competitors hompeage URLs), &/or find link exchange networks (analyze suspicious homepage URLs) Why is domain popularity important? You need backlinks (= link popularity) to improve your search engine ranking. But that’s not all: You need backlinks from different domains (= domain popularity) based on different IPs (= IP popularity). This is more valuable to your rankings.

Text links are an important factor in today’s search engine optimization, and exchanging links with other websites is a good way to get them. If you are in the game of Search Engine Optimization for sometimes, I am sure that you have heard that getting links back to your site–or “backlinks”–is an essential part of getting it to the top of Google’s search results.

Backlinks are links on other sites that point back to your website. These backlinks give your site more power and authority in the search engines. But it is not just about links–if the site that is linking to your site has a high Page Rank and is an older, established site, then that site transfers some of its reputation onto your site. Basically, it is better to have one backlink from a strong site than several backlinks from weak sites.

I have spent a lot of time and money researching the different backlinking methods to find out what works and what does not. And what I have discovered is that a lot of people make serious mistakes when starting a backlinking campaign. These mistakes can actually hurt your efforts rather than helping you.

Deadly Mistake #1: Creating Links From the Same IP Address.

It is easy to focus all of your link building efforts by placing your articles on the same site. This can definitely increase the PageRank of your site but it will not help much in your Search Engine Ranking Position (SERP). Hence, posting a lots of comments on the same forum or blog may increase your backlinks but it will not help much in your site ranking high on particular keyword. You need to create your backlinks from different sites (i.e different IP Addresses) in order to rank high on Google searching.

Deadly Mistake #2: Creating Link Wheels

In simple term, a link wheel is a set of sites or webpages, normally of high PageRank, interlinked in a “wheel” structure — all linking to each other in addition to your “money site” / main site.

The purpose for this structure is to increase the link juice going to each site/page – which, in turn goes back to your site. Because of the way that all of the sites interlink with each other, not only does your main site get more link juice, but the backlinking sites also get link juice. This makes it possible to have more than one of your sites showing up on Google’s 1st page, increasing your chances for a click. Previously, I was able to dominate Google’s page 1 using this method for low- to medium-competition terms easily. However, this wheel structure is a closed network. This leaves a footprint (It is easy to see that it is just one person creating the link wheel) and Google caught on to the system and it is stopped being as effective as it now.

Deadly Mistake #3: Choosing the Wrong Anchor Text

The anchor text is the text that you use when creating a link (It usually shows up in blue.). Many people make the mistake of using the words “click here” as the text for the link that goes to their site. Unfortunately, this does not help the search engines to understand what the site is about. Let look at an example. Try a Google search for the keyword “Download Now” and you will see Apple’s website on Google’s page 1 in the first position. I am sure Apple did not optimize the page for the keyword “Download Now”, but there are millions of links to this page with the anchor text “Download Now”, prompting readers to download QuickTime Hence, using the right keyword in the anchor text is essential in getting your site to rank higher for that keyword.

The odds are only one in every two hundred of your links being found without any index help. Those are not good betting averages. You are going to have to be submitting those connector links day and night to win at those odds.

Everybody that has a web site on the internet that provides a service, or sells a product needs to have their site ranked in the top ten of the possibilities. So you want your keyword to cause the search engines to put your name on the top of their list, every time someone types it in. You started using search engine optimization to get this done.

Search engine optimization has taught you that by providing back links from other sites you can increase your popularity with the big guns, and inch your way to the top spot. You know that the proven method is to get some links on relevant sites, and to make sure everyone you have out there is still working. You are doing everything right, you just do not seem to be increasing your ranking. Why?

You simply need to get all of those you already have out there indexed so they start pulling the traffic to you. Sometimes the crawlers from the search engines need to be directed to your links. The SEO was right about you needing to direct that traffic your way in order to get those rankings up. They just did not tell you that you might have to give the links a little help to get recognized.
